"ni ju mut gai"
everytime i do come here i see how tough the people got it here ..and need to remind myself that being an aussie is such a massive blessing and not to take such things for granted in life. The past days the 'rushness' has really got to us. Esp my brother being so snappy and cocky..i try not to encourage by saying 'don't worry' and not saying anything when he vents out.
I told my auntie that i wanted to check out the big church at Wan chai where apparently a fair amount of CCCers attend. She isn't christian im sure but i think it will be a great oppurtunity for her to ask any questions she has and put me to the test to step up! I got back and met grandpa..he's such a funny man and hasn't really changed in the humour department since last time i saw him in '03. I think an old person thing where they act like a child sometimes asking silly questions yet knowing the answers.
Anyways i was wearing my 'Jesus is my homeboy' shirt and he asked who the person on it (Jesus) was. I told him it was Jesus and he acknowledged my belief and ask me if he fought my battles..well at least thats wat i thought he asked me. I asked him what he believed in and he said himself. I admitted myself that i was like that (yet still am now) before i became a believer..he asked if my parents believed either but i said no..
i need to work on something..and i always feel crap after for having such a half arsed effort about things.. but at least its on my mind at the moment..
btw..with this blog's topic..that means "what are you doing" in Hakka.. i found it real funny coz my auntie said that to one of the kiddies while playing mahjong and they did an illegal move in the game i think..

My first day of spending
then met up with 5 auntie and had lunch with mum and brother. The real spending started happening at Kowloon Tong where we had to buy clothes for our cousins wedding tomorrow. I really didnt want to have to spend more clothes but i figured it was alright since ill start wearing this to work anyways. Spending as follows at G2000 where i got everything except shoes
- pants
- long sleeved shirt
- belt
all up $600+..we'll just say it was $100 aussie but it was pretty gd i spose, the belt was pretty cool coz i could choose my belt and the buckle seperate! After that went the music store and went straight to the POP ROCK section to look for....OASIS! yes ive heard their songs over and over and i wanted to get an original copy of their album 'What's the story?'. This is def by far my fav album of all time and i only started really listening to this album about 2 years ago. I remember always liking the song 'don't look back in anger' and remembering that 'white house'. Is that the same as the one used in one of john lennon's MTV's?
Anyways this set me back about $20 aussie, pretty decent i spose, i could've got their all time greatest hits with an actual DVD as well with a few concerts but i chose the older album. Next was on the hunt to get shoes..another thing i didnt want to get..found a real comfy pair for about $90aussie..pretty gd i spose coz ive never had any real comfy 'black' shoes.
After all this time it was getting near dinner time, got their with 5 auntie and 5th uncle met up not longer (good timing!). I knew youngest auntie wouldnt be coming anytime soon so i walked the streets of Mong Kok and rolled through 'woman street'. Its basically a long strip of markets all joined together..why its called woman street maybe coz women love to shop? Ughh yea blokes do too.. I failed to look for a german soccer jersey with 'schweinsteigger' on the back..nor one for Bayern Munich. Ill have to get my other cousin to help me out. I ended up finding a black chinese jacket for my shift leader for less than $20 aussie (SCORE!).
Well i think thats enough for 2nite..ill be back again probably again for 2moro nite to this ghetto pc bar..its so ghetto i feel slightly intimidated heading into this alley, into the apartments and into this housing room which is the PC BAR. I must post pics soon of my daily ventures

my arrival in HK
the day started at 9am where sis drive us to the airport. The trip was an 8hr trip but to our suprise we were filled with the goodness of mini tv screens, movies,tv shows and music! Very cool! so many movies were on offer, only got to finish watching half of Rocky Balboa. My brother was watching Kenny. I watched 2 episodes of top gear and watched a lil bit of 10 Canoes. The trip didnt feel that long at all only coz we had the good Qantas in flight entertainment.
And to make the trip a tad odd most of the passengers on our flight were of anglo aussie background..but i can understand that the holiday season is over for most chinese and having to go back to work. We were actually the minority of the passengers! :P
Got to HK and the first things i noticed something of HK are the cars! Yes im a bit of a car lover and the first thing that catches my eye are the modifications of vans especially. Light body kits and alloy wheels.
I think the HKness has finally sinked in with all the convenience and consumerism..i tried to read the bible on the trip here but it was pretty tough sinking it all in. Still within Genesis..long way to go but ill get there :)
Anyways..unfortunately will be having a lot of trouble backing up my blogs with my daily snaps so they'll come very late. Another cool thing i noticed with HK was that while we were heading for dinner i saw a student swipe his card on this machine that apparently redeemed him $2 credit. I asked my auntie "what was that!?" She told me that people can swipe this machine and they're granted $2 credit on their travel cards, apparently to entice them to catch the trains more. Pretty cool idea huh!?
Anyways, i think thats it for now
